Wing-Fai Ng

Mr. Ng is Managing Director and Co-Chief Executive Officer of Primus | PMN Capital Ltd. Prior to Primus, Mr. Ng was Managing Director, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Strategy of Fubon Financial, one of the largest financial services conglomerates in Taiwan.

Mr. Ng joined Fubon Financial in 2000 and was the founding member of Fubon's Operating and Management Committee. He was also in charge of Fubon Financial's overall strategy, M&A activities and all major change programs. Reporting to the board of Fubon Financial and the founding Tsai family, Mr. Ng oversaw every aspect of the Fubon Financial Group, including Fubon Insurance, Fubon Life, Fubon Bank, and Fubon Securities. He led a group-wide reorganization, major cost-cutting exercises, a balance sheet restructuring, and capital management and financing programs. His leadership in driving the consumer business, customer relationship management system, and cross-selling solidified Fubon Financial's market leadership position and improved profitability. He also led Fubon Financial in winning the bid to acquire TaipeiBank for US$2.3 billion, and was in charge of the restructuring as well as the integration of the two banks' operations together with Jesse Ding, thereby establishing the largest bank in Taipei. Later in 2004, Mr. Ng led Fubon Financial in acquiring International Bank of Asia in Hong Kong, the first acquisition of a Hong Kong bank by a Taiwan financial services company.

Operationally, Mr. Ng has had vast experience within the life insurance sector. At Fubon Life, Mr. Ng designed, developed, and implemented the overall growth strategy that built the foundation of Fubon Life, enabling it to grow its premiums and increase profitability. He also drove cross-selling of insurance products via bank channels at Fubon, before bancassurance became a standard industry practice. In 2001, Mr. Ng also helped establish the joint-venture life insurance operation between Fubon Life and Citi in Hong Kong.

Prior to his position at Fubon Financial, Mr. Ng was a Managing Director and Head of the Financial Institutions Group in the Investment Banking Department of Salomon Smith Barney in Asia.

Previously, Mr. Ng was a management consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton, specializing in financial services in the U.S. and Asia. Mr. Ng holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an M.A. from Cambridge University where he was awarded the Jardine Scholarship and numerous other academic awards.
